Junior SEO Specialist

Working hours: 9am- 5pm US Hours (EST/CST/PST)
Position’s Goal:
Support and execute strategies to improve organic search traffic, rankings, and conversions for clients by focusing on on-page, off-page, and local SEO practices. This role ensures that SEO fundamentals are implemented consistently and provides opportunities to develop expertise in advanced SEO strategies over time. It is a junior role, only requiring 1-2 years of experience, but it does require prior hands-on-keyboard SEO experience, and an ability to follow clear directions from our SEO manager.
Key Functions & Responsibilities
Daily:
- Support SEO manager in carrying out essential tasks to get websites ranking and performing well in Google
- Perform keyword research to identify opportunities for content and ranking improvements.
- Assist in creating content briefs and on-page SEO recommendations.
- Monitor Google Search Console and analytics tools for basic site performance insights.
- Implement technical SEO recommendations under guidance.
- Support team members in updating meta tags, internal linking, and other optimization tasks.
- Track ranking and traffic trends using tools like SEMrush or Ahrefs.
Weekly:
- Conduct basic audits of on-page and off-page SEO performance.
- Assist in monitoring local SEO efforts, such as managing citations and Google Business Profile updates.
- Research competitors’ keyword rankings and strategies to inform client campaigns.
- Collaborate in team stand-ups to discuss progress and priorities.
- Provide updates on SEO tasks to the Account Manager or senior team members.
Monthly:
- Participate in SEO audits by gathering data and preparing initial reports.
- Assist in tracking and reporting on campaign KPIs.
- Contribute to client deliverables, such as SEO reports and action plans.
- Identify skill-building opportunities to expand knowledge of SEO tools and tactics.
Ad-Hoc:
- Assist in preparing strategies for new client pitches.
- Research and stay informed about SEO algorithm updates and industry best practices.

Education & Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field preferred.
- Experience:
- 1–2 years in an SEO-focused role or internship.
- Experience in a digital marketing agency is a plus.
